An art exhibition opened this week showcasing the work of contemporary Nigerian painters, with pieces exploring themes ranging from urban life to ancestral memory displayed across the gallery’s main halls.

Curators say the exhibition aims to give emerging and mid-career artists a platform alongside more established names in the contemporary art scene.

“There’s a wealth of talent that doesn’t always get the visibility it deserves, and this exhibition is about correcting that,” the curator said.
