A public library reopened this week following a months-long renovation that added a digital learning centre equipped with computers and free internet access for students and job seekers in the community.

The renovation was funded through a partnership between the local government and a private foundation focused on expanding access to education resources.

“This library is now more than books, it’s a gateway to digital skills for people who couldn’t otherwise afford them,” the foundation’s representative said at the reopening.

Library staff say enrollment in free computer literacy classes has already exceeded expectations since the reopening, with a waiting list forming for upcoming sessions.
